"Thanks, but no thanks" on Thanksgiving!

This was sent from Beth, our friendly Human Resources gal. I'm sad because today I was working on my Thanksgiving menu: herb-roasted turkey breast, mushroom gravy, roasted red potatoes, apple-sausage stuffing, and pumpkin whips. Maybe now I'll just eat AIR.

Where did my 5 pounds go?

courtesy Jeffrey Sweet

Well, crap. It's been nearly two months since I got hitched, and I'm slowly creeping up the scales.

I wasn't sure if I should keep the blog going or not after the wedding, but our online community is still gaining members, and people are still talking online. I guess I'm the only one who's left out!

I am wondering if anyone has any ideas about how to maintain their weight during the holidays. Look, I'm not in the mood to lose weight right now, with Thanksgiving coming up, but I am ready to start working that way.

I am getting ready to move into a new house (this Friday) so too much stress right now. I would love to get some good low-cal holiday recipes. Any thoughts?

Calorie Counter Winner: Ashley Hill

Congratulations goes to Ashley Hill!

She won our calorie counter (by Coheso)... and I dropped it off for her today! We drew her name after we had a contest for joining our online community.

Honeymoon anguish

I never thought I'd say this, but I can't wait to get back to Springfield so I can start working out again! As much as I hate going to the gym... I can't stand eating my way through Hawaii anymore. I mean, all we do is see something cool, then eat something. Even when we're out in the water doing really cool-sounding things like snorkeling and body boarding, we are still eating enough calories to pack on the pounds.

How do I know? I tried to put on some pants last night to go out to dinner, of course, and the stupid pants were TIGHT. I mean, tight in the thighs. What?! I could understand if they were a little tight in the gut, but the thighs? Uh oh. Mark Millsap, where are you? Gina? Dave?

See you in a few days... I won't be back at KSPR until next Wednesday... until then, enjoy some pics of Jim and I eating our way to Hana. (Google The Road to Hana if you don't know what I'm talking about.)

Stopped 25 minutes later (tops) to eat thai food from the side of the road. Seriously.
