Getting Fit, Eating Right, Losing Weight, Living Better

I have been continuing to make a lot of changes and I have now lost about 30 lbs. I want to lose another 126 lbs. I know that seems like a lot, lets face it, that is a lot, but I have finally decided that I need to do this. If I can lose all of that weight, that will put me at about 165 lbs. A much healthier and happier weight for me. One of the biggest reasons for losing all of this weight is the mounting health problems that have come with this weight. I wont go into the entire list but trust me there are a lot. A lot more than a 30 year old should be dealing with.

As far as changes go, I think one of my biggest changes is water. I can honestly say that I used to pretty much live on pop. (and no not diet) . I finally got smart and decided to stop drinking regular pop and I now drink diet. I also now drink less pop and more water. That has been a big help. Also, I have made a rule that once a week at least, I have to eat a vegetarian meal . I have also started eat more chicken and fish. I am also working on portion control. I have owned a food scale for awhile I just have never used it. I am trying to use it more to help me to keep on track.

As far as exercise, I will not lie, I hate it. I do not like to do it, and I avoid it at all costs. I am working on that. Because I was born with a physical disability, I do have a lot of problems with certain forms of exercise. I am also a wuss. I start to hurt and then I quit. That is another thing that I am working on. I have to learn that quitting is not an option. I have been really lucky with losing the weight that I have so far. I know that it is not going to be this easy forever.

Congratulations on the 30 lbs! That's such a great start! Exercise is one I have trouble sticking with too, but I find when I do it, I usually feel better. Have you ever looked into water aerobics? It takes a lot of pressure off your joints and body, but still gives you a great workout! They also say if you have a workout buddy, it tends to keep you more motivated because you know that someone else is depending on you. For me, I try to always think of something that I'm striving towards.... like a wedding dress and how much better I'm going to fit in it when I lose the weight. So I have that mental image ingrained in my mind and it helps me get through my workouts and even to eat better too.

I hope that you succeed in your weight loss... 30 lbs is a great start, just keep going!
