I would try working on "yourself" first. CONSISTENCY IS THE KEY. Physical activity no less than 5 days a week and a really portioned controlled diet with lots of fiber to keep you full. When I follow these steps ... I have success. Now, the key is ALWAYS following these steps. I am at a point to where I need to really "trick" my system ... after having done the same things for so long, etc. KEEP ME POSTED!!
Don't worry about the 5, I think I gained about 2 or 3 over Thanksgiving and its been hard getting back into the routine! I've started doing an odd workout where I walk/warm up for 15 minutes, eliptical for 20, stairmaster for 10, eliptical for another 20, and finish out with another 15 minute walk. I have a short attention span so it helps being able to switch it up. That stinks that your Y membership ran out :o( Where are you currently working out at?
I go to the Y on Republic Road. It's been hard finding the motivation, but when I step on the scale this morning and saw I had lost my first 10 lbs, I definately got motivated to go today! Plus, after reading the blog about all of the Thanks, but no thanks, giving calories, I decided I probably better go if I don't want to gain all 10 lbs back in one day!
I've been going and doing the eliptical machine, stairmaster, rowing machine, and walking. By the end of December I'm planning on getting back into strength training, but just wanted to get some initial weight off first. Are you still doing the bootcamps at Doling?
I had joined Curves, but it didn't really end up being my thing, but have always had a membership to the YMCA, so I've started to get back into that! I feel so much better when I work out, sometimes it's just the motivator that's the kicker!
No, I think I'm good! I had been reading the blog and finally decided to join the group! Thanks for adding me as a friend and congratulations on the wedding.
Btw, I think you should keep up the blog... You can take it from teh perspective of maintaining your weight loss, or weight loss after marriage!
He's working tonight, actually, reporting 8-midnight. He's doing a similar shift Sunday night. You can catch him every hour on the hour during those times! He really likes it, but it's a tough schedule, so he's having to adapt. I think he's doing well!
Oh, too much and not enough. I produced a special live "Money on Main Street" talkback show for KOLR yesterday, which I was given two days notice to do. Yikes! Been traveling a lot b/c of the fall season (my fave... and there are TONS of haunted houses out there... you just have to look). Philip got a new job as a reporter at KTTS! He's working hit butt off over there, but I don't see him very often! Oh... and I just turned 26... Tuesday. Things are going great... but I haven't had much time to bike, despite getting a new bike rack. I plan to get back on next week... wanna join!?! :) Hope all is well in Hawaii! I LOVE reading the blogs... sorry about the videos! Enjoy yourself!
Sorry the chat was short....ya know family in for the hurricane and the mayhem that goes along with it. Why did the email come at a good time?
Are you getting married in Springfield, or your hometown?

Hey! Our vacation to beautiful Phuket is still 3 weeks off. After having my husband gone for the past 2 nights, I need a vacation!!! I am currently typing this while watching Oprah. Cher is on for the tv special featuring her and Tina Turner. The woman is 61 years old and looks better than I could ever dream of looking myself. Tina's looking pretty good herself!! I'm just sitting here AMAZED at these beautiful women who could be my mothers. AAAAARRRRGGGGHHH!!!!! I can't even eat well for more than a day!! Hahaha! By the way, who was the lucky winner of the calorie counter? The video is always unavailable when I try to click on it!
sure that will be great. I'm leaving for D.C. and NY city tomorrow though but I will be teaching Saturday 16th from there on....if Brad comes then you could give to him or you could mail to me
actually, sparkpeople is working very well. I like it better than any other program that I have ever tried to use. I am still in the beginning phases but I am getting there. Thanks for suggesting sparkpeople.
